A tall white breed of cattle from Italy, the Chianina are perhaps one of the oldest breeds of cattle in world, dating back to before the Roman Empire. The breed developed in the Chiana Valley in the province of Tuscany in central Italy, hence the name CHIANINA. In a cross breeding program, additional frame, growth rate and production of a lean meaty carcass contribute to their desirability.
